The conference focused on the advancement of workers' rights through litigation as well as legislation.
One topic of special importance was "Welding Rod Litigation: Evaluating the Work Place Injury". Medical research has linked welding fumes with permanent neurological injury such as Parkinson's Disease. There are currently 7,000 welding rod cases filed throughout the country in both state and federal court.
