Essure

Essure

Essure is a permanent birth control product owned by Bayer that has caused controversy in recent years due to thousands of reports of serious adverse side effects.

The device requires a non-surgical insertion of two metal coils into the woman’s fallopian tubes. Scar tissue forms inside the tubes which effectively prevents fertilization and pregnancy. The device has been administered to over 750,000 women and has been a chosen method for birth control for over 10 years. Bayer markets the product as a quick, non-invasive procedure with a nearly 100 percent effective rate and a speedy recovery time.

However, women have reported many serious side effects and required surgical extraction. Some of the side effects reported have been:

  • Chronic Pelvic Pain
  • Perforation of the Uterus and Other Organs
  • Autoimmune Diseases
  • Metal Allergies
  • Device Migration
  • Device Breakage
  • Abnormal or Irregular Bleeding
  • Unplanned Pregnancy & Miscarriage
  • Placental Abruption

If you or someone you know have experienced any of the side effects listed above or have required medical treatment because of complications with Essure, please fill out our contact form or give us a call. We’ll get you the settlement you deserve.
